ZBrush Ancient Archipelago Bathroom Rockwork
This sculpt depicts a rockwork facade for a bathroom in The Ancient Archipelago, a fictional themed land developed as part of my thesis project.
This rockwork theming is functional in that while it immerses guests in the environment, it also provides shade and seating to those waiting outside the bathroom.
I imitated basalt column stones and volcanic rock for this idea. When the basalt cools, it sometimes fractures in 120 degree angles creating naturally cut hexagonal pillars in the stone. Instances can be found in Ireland, Iceland, and Alaska among other places, making this rock a cool and accurate choice for the Iceland-inspired Ancient Archipelago.
